June 5, July 3 and August 7, 2025

Arts Etobicoke and the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) partnered to deliver two culturally enriching workshops on June 5, July 3 and August 7, 2025, led by Farrukh, ROM’s Coordinator of South Asian Community Engagement.

“Stereographs from India” where guests recieved hands-on interaction with stereographs and stereoscopes from the ROM collection. “Tea: Chai” explored the historical and cultural evolution of tea in South Asia, highlighting its colonial transformation and social impact, complemented by a tactile experience with ceramic artifacts. “The ‘Art’ of Ornament in South Asia” engaged participants in a hands-on drawing session inspired by ROM’s collection, fostering deeper understanding of decorative motifs and their cultural narratives. All events successfully attracted a diverse audience and promoted cross-cultural dialogue and creative exploration.
