Arts Etobicoke: The Art of Making Joyful Art

Arts Etobicoke: The Art of Making Joyful Art

This Summer, Arts Etobicoke is threading creativity and sustainability together in their new workshop series: Stitch, Sew & Sustain.

For six Saturdays, you’ll dive into the art of mending, altering, and embellishing fabric using techniques like hand-stitching, embroidery, and machine sewing with guidance from Sultana Usmani.

What to Bring: Most materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring:

  • Fabric scraps with sentimental value
  • Clothing in need of mending
  • Household textiles ready for a refresh

A sewing machine will be available on-site, and participants are welcome to bring their own tools and ideas to contribute to this collaborative, creative space.

Let’s extend the life of our textiles, reduce waste, and celebrate personal expression through fiber arts—together.

Dates: Saturdays, August 2 through September 6, 2025
Time: 11 am to 1 pm
Venue: Cloverdale Common
