Arts Etobicoke: ROM South Asian History Workshop  | Stereographs from India

Join Arts Etobicoke for a unique and engaging community workshop led by the Coordinator of South Asia Community Engagement, as part of the ROM South Asian History Workshop Series. Together, you’ll explore the fascinating world of nineteenth-century stereographs—photographs that, when viewed through a stereoscope, create a vivid three-dimensional experience.

Through hands-on interaction with stereographs and stereoscopes from the ROM collection, as well as View-Masters and reels, you’ll reflect on how people have historically captured their travels and what they chose to remember. What stories do these images tell? How have they shaped the way South Asia is visually represented today?

This workshop invites you to look closely, think critically, and connect the past with the present through the lens of photography and memory.

Date: Thursday, June 5, 2025
Time: 2 to 3 pm
Venue: Cloverdale Common
